Industrial Automation Engineer

Who They’re Looking For

• Recent graduate (within last 3 years) with a Master’s or Ph.D. in:
• Automation Engineering
• Computer Engineering
• Robotics / AI / Computer Science
• Preferred universities: University of Miami, FAU, FIU, NOVA
• 2–5 years of experience in:
• Automation / Controls Engineering
• AI, OT (Operational Technology), or industrial systems
• Pharmaceutical or medical device (GMP-regulated) environments

Key Skills Required

• PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
• SCADA / HMI systems
• Industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, OPC)
• Python, Microsoft Power Platform, AI/ML tools
• Understanding of industrial IT systems, databases, and automation cybersecurity

Day-to-Day Duties

• Support and build automation systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI)
• Program, test, and troubleshoot control systems
• Work with IT and operations teams to improve system performance
• Help design automation architecture and integrate systems (MES, ERP, etc.)
• Maintain industrial networks and ensure system security
• Use analytics and AI tools for predictive maintenance and performance improvement
• Participate in system testing, validation, and commissioning (FAT/SAT)
• Troubleshoot issues to reduce downtime
• Create documentation, SOPs, and system diagrams
• Support projects, vendors, and compliance with GMP and safety standards

Nice-to-Have / Bonus Skills

• Robotics integration (vision systems, motion control, safety systems)
• Experience with tools like OSIsoft PI, SQL Server, VMware
• Exposure to manufacturing analytics and AI-based monitoring
