JOB SUMMARY:
Join our dynamic team as an Industrial Automation Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in supporting TruStile's manufacturing operations. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for maintaining, programming, and optimizing our control systems and automation infrastructure. Your expertise in PLC/HMI programming, troubleshooting machine-level controls, and collaborating on innovative automation initiatives will be key to enhancing our operational efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial automation systems with various PLC platforms including Beckhoff and Allen-Bradley.
- Configure and support HMI systems for production equipment interfaces.
- Troubleshoot and enhance systems involving VFDs, sensors, encoders, relays, motor starters, and electrical panels (up to 480V 3-phase).
- Support and improve safety systems, ensuring compliance with OSHA and NFPA 70E standards.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and IT teams to deliver automation solutions aligned with operational priorities.
- Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for plant controls and electrical issues.
- Maintain a centralized repository of backup programs for PLCs and HMIs, documenting changes thoroughly.
- Implement automation-based solutions that enhance uptime, quality, or efficiency.
- Provide technical support for the installation and commissioning of new equipment or automation upgrades.
- Develop training materials for electrical and controls development, assisting in the onboarding of junior technicians.
- Adhere to all plant safety policies and actively participate in safety improvement efforts related to automation.
SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in automation, controls, or electrical systems within a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in PLC logic and troubleshooting, with a preference for Beckhoff experience (Allen-Bradley also a plus).
- Experience in reading and modifying electrical schematics, ladder logic, and panel layouts.
- Knowledge of and experience with automation hardware such as Light curtains, Area scanners, Encoders, sensors, HMIs, and touchscreens.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience for systems up to 480V (AC and DC).
- Comfortable working from elevated platforms and scissor lifts; certification required or obtainable.
- Solid knowledge of NFPA 70E and OSHA standards for electrical safety.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
Preferred:
- Experience with WoodWOP or similar machining interface software.
- Familiarity with TwinCAT or structured text programming.
- Understanding of isolated networks and best practices for controls system data integrity.
- OSHA 10/30 certification.
- Experience in training others and supporting technical development programs.

Salary: $81,000 - $101,000
