Job Summary
We are seeking a mid-sr level PLC Programmer to join our team, bringing expertise in programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining programmable logic controllers (PLCs) across our industrial operations. This role requires strong technical skills, hands‑on experience with PLC software, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to support the automation and control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Program and Configure: Develop and modify PLC programs to enhance production processes and optimize efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and Diagnose: Identify and resolve issues in PLC systems, including ladder logic, HMI (Human‑Machine Interface), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
- System Integration: Work with cross‑functional teams to integrate PLC systems with various machinery, sensors, and controllers, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Maintenance and Testing: Conduct regular tests and preventive maintenance on PLCs to ensure reliability and adherence to safety standards.
- Documentation: Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of all programming changes, configurations, and system upgrades.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to identify and implement improvements in automation and control processes.
- Support and Training: Provide technical support and training for maintenance personnel on PLC troubleshooting and repairs.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Technology, or related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Skills:
- Proficiency with PLC platforms such as Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider Electric.
- Strong understanding of ladder logic, function block diagrams, and structured text programming.
- Familiarity with HMI and SCADA systems.
- Basic knowledge of electrical schematics, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Other: Ability to work on‑site and travel as needed for installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Knowledge of industry standards and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in additional programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) is a plus.
