Controls Engineer

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this position supports all sites and is out of the 24X7 Orangeburg, NY facility.
Key Competencies / Requirements
- Deep knowledge of PLC, servos, and VFD programming.
- Extensive experience with data logging applications like PTC Kepserver.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting industrial electrical circuits.
- Manufacturing experience, 3 to 10 years.
Responsibilities
- This engineer will be the primary controls engineer for Aluf Plastics.
- Will take charge of controls projects; including vendor and equipment selection, resource planning, and execution.
- Collaborating with the rest of the engineering and operations teams, plans and execute productivity improvement efforts.
- Collaborating with the EHS manager, will provide engineering solutions to safety and environmental issues.
- Support development of SOPs, work instructions, etc.
- Support plant R&D.

- With Aluf’s adaptability comes ambiguity and competing priorities, it is important to be able to cope well with these situations.
- This position enjoys a wide latitude and the person will have to be motivated to proactively solve problems.
- Plastics processing equipment uses heat, and components that generate noise. Being effective in this position requires a hands on approach, and you must be prepared to spend time on the production floor.
