CED's current salary range for this role is $102,500 to $138,500 / year. At CED, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, location and geography.
In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. CED’s Industrial Engineer (IE) is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes and improving production efficiency across the operational business areas. Technical experience required in value stream mapping, capacity modeling, standard work, line balancing, and WIP planning. The IE will help implement best practices in a high mix manufacturing environment.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and safety
- Analyze manufacturing and operational data to drive insights and continuous improvement initiatives; utilize visualization tools to understand trends, outliers, and patterns in data
- Participate and lead Kaizen and 3P events for continuous improvement
- Design, implement, and evaluate work-cell layouts with basis on capacity modeling and line balancing to ensure continuous flow
- Coordinate facility capital plan execution, maintaining facility layout and equipment footprint. Analyze capital equipment resource loading and develop plans for capacity management and/or capital expenditure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish, validate, and document the process design for product lines
- Conduct/lead or participate in Process Mapping, FMEA, Problem Solving, Quality Control Plan development, initiatives to identify waste, reduce cycle times, and implement process continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead and facilitate Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for covered processes
- Evaluate and solve problems as they occur, recommend and implement improvements as needed relating to the production process
- Serve as a key ambassador of “The Chemring Way” Continuous Improvement framework

Education
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering or a related STEM discipline required
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering or a related area.
SKILLS And QUALIFICATIONS
- Lawful US Person (ITAR restrictions)
- Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic Devices
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders such as managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Ability to work within an agile and milestone driven culture and be capable of working with peers on a multidisciplinary team
- Applied knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies required
- Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with upper management and operating independently with minimal supervision
