Job Title: Instrumentation and Controls Design Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team as a Design Manager. In this role, you will oversee and perform the design of control panel and instrumentation projects, focusing on custom control panels for wastewater treatment companies. As a team member, you will lead and mentor other engineers, manage projects from inception to completion, and consult with clients on panel designs and projects.

Responsibilities

• Design control panels using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Monitor and control the progress of projects, ensuring compliance with UL and other quality standards.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop control panel and instrument submittals.
• Consult with end clients to obtain drawing approvals, and work with assemblers to ensure proper project assembly.
• Provide technical support for project compliance and quality assurance.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of electrical design experience with AutoCAD 2023.
• 2+ years of industrial control panel design experience.
• 2+ years of experience with PLCs such as Modicon, Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar programs.
• 1+ years of leadership and vendor management experience, including checking drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in controls and/or process engineering in the water/wastewater industry.
• Proficiency in control panel design and layout.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and provide technical support.

Work Environment

The work environment is a smaller, family-like setting with a total of 18 on-site team members, many of whom have over 10 years of tenure. The company values internal promotions and provides opportunities for professional growth. The dress code is casual, including jeans and a button‑up or polo shirt. The work shift is from 7 AM to 4 PM.

This is a Permanent position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
