At Jacobs, we’re transforming intangible ideas into innovative solutions designing the future -today….by joining our New York team, you will too. Our Instrumentation & Controls Engineers provide technically complex and robust control systems to support water/wastewater facilities. Our Engineers are in involved in designing or integrating industrial process control systems. You will be exposed to and become proficient in the design and implementation of industrial control systems. Additional requirements include knowledge of PLC and HMI programming, panel designing, power distribution system, Mechanical Systems (Pump, Fuel and Generators), fire alarm and life safety systems and construction administration services.

Your daily job function will include one or more of the following

  • Design control panel layouts, BOM’s, Nameplate Schedules, AC and/or DC wireway layouts.
  • Development of I/O wiring diagrams, AC and/or DC power distribution diagrams, I/O Lists.
  • Instrumentation specifications and selection of instruments using an Instrument Index and/or instrument data sheets.
  • Copper and fiber optic networks for the control system or SCADA.
  • Develop Bill of Materials and Estimates for Design projects.
  • Prepare drawings detailing the system designed utilizing AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Develop Conceptual design reports and Concept of Operation Documents.
  • Prepare Engineering Specifications.
  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects
  • Engaging with instrumentation vendors and manufactures to understand product capabilities.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical of Chemical Engineering
  • Professional expertise
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Proficiency with Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Schneider, Wonderware SCADA manufacturers.
  • 10%-15% travel time expected with trip durations 1 to 2 weeks, local or international travel

Ideally, you'll have

  • EIT with plans of taking the Control Systems PE exam once requirements are met

The base salary range for this position is $142,000.00 to $225,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
