Job Summary

The Insurance Compliance & Risk Analyst acts as the primary operational link between property management teams, corporate insurance leadership, insurance brokers, TPAs, and carriers. This role ensures consistent insurance compliance, effective claims administration, and proactive risk management across the managed real estate portfolio.

This position is based out of our HQ in Chicago, IL

Essential job functions

Insurance Program Management

  • Be the main point of contact and liaison between the company and investor partner risk teams.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the organization’s Property, Liability, and Environmental insurance programs.
  • Partner with the corporate Insurance team during annual renewals to confirm coverage terms, deductibles, and reporting requirements.
  • Communicate insurance guidelines, summaries, and procedures to property and asset management teams.
  • Compile and deliver exposure data required for renewals, including rent rolls, COPE information, and asset details.

Contract Review & Insurance Compliance

  • Review leases, vendor agreements, and service contracts to confirm insurance requirements align with corporate standards.
  • Collect, validate, and track Certificates of Insurance, ensuring limits, endorsements, and additional insured status are compliant.
  • Monitor expiration dates and enforce timely COI renewals across tenants, vendors, and contractors.

Claims Administration & Coordination

  • Serve as the intake point for property, liability, and environmental incidents.
  • Submit claims to TPAs or carriers and coordinate inspections, adjuster communications, and required documentation.
  • Maintain complete and well-organized claim files, including statements of loss and proof of loss documentation.
  • Participate in periodic claim review meetings with internal stakeholders, TPAs, brokers, and carriers.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain centralized digital records for insurance policies, claims, contracts, and COIs.
  • Prepare recurring reports summarizing claims activity, compliance status, and loss trends.
  • Support audits and insurance renewals with accurate and timely documentation.

Construction Insurance & Risk Management

  • Oversee insurance compliance for capital projects and renovations, including builder’s risk, general liability, and excess coverage.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure insurance remains compliant throughout the life of each project.
  • Analyze recurring claim patterns and collaborate with loss control teams to recommend corrective actions.

Training, Communication & Oversight

  • Deliver training and guidance to property teams on insurance procedures, incident reporting, and compliance expectations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for insurance-related operational questions.
  • Monitor TPA and carrier responsiveness and escalate recurring issues to corporate insurance leadership.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
  • 3+ years of experience working with insurance compliance and risk
  • Proficiency in Excel/Microsoft Office Suite
