ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Government Relations Intern, you will work directly with the Manager of Governmental Partnerships and Strategy to support and expand SE3’s engagement with governmental institutions across Europe.
You will contribute to strategic initiatives in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Nordics, and Ukraine. This role offers direct exposure to high-level public sector engagement in a rapidly evolving technological and geopolitical landscape.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic government engagement: Support the development and execution of country-specific engagement strategies. Conduct stakeholder mapping across ministries, procurement bodies, armed forces, and relevant EU institutions.
- Policy & regulatory analysis: Analyse national and European defence procurement frameworks, public funding instruments (e.g. EU-level innovation and defence programs), and relevant regulatory developments. Translate policy insights into actionable strategic recommendations.
- Funding support: Contribute to national and international public funding applications.
- Executive preparation: Prepare briefings, background memos, and strategic materials for senior-level meetings with public sector representatives.

YOUR PROFILE
- Bias to action: If you see a problem that can be solved or a way to grow the business, we want you to go for it.
- Positive attitude: You combine intellectual rigor with execution speed.
- You’re enrolled in a Master’s degree in political science, international relations, public affairs, law, or a related field.
- You have gained first-hand experience within a governmental institution (e.g. federal ministry, parliament, EU body, international organisation).
- You demonstrate a strong understanding of European political institutions and defence policy landscapes.
- Native level German (C2) and English (C2) is required for the role; French is a big plus and helps you shine in a European context.
- You are proactive, structured, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment.
- Prior exposure to technology policy, defence innovation, or entrepreneurial environments is a plus.
- Length: minimum of 4 months, 6 months highly preferred
