Investment Analyst
Role Overview
The Investment Analyst will join a collaborative Investments team, supporting portfolio management through analysis, reporting, and data-driven insights.
This role is suited to someone with strong analytical thinking, a genuine interest in financial markets, and confidence working with data and investment tools. You will gain broad exposure across the investment process, working closely with Investment Managers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Support & Analysis
- Provide analysis to support day-to-day investment decision-making
- Assist with research and contribute to the development of new investment ideas
- Review and interpret portfolio performance, preparing reports and summaries
Reporting & Tools
- Prepare and maintain internal reports used by Investment Managers
- Support the upkeep and enhancement of internal investment tools and processes
- Contribute to improvements in reporting frameworks and data accuracy
Operations & Reconciliation
- Perform daily reconciliations and liaise with back-office teams to resolve discrepancies
- Help ensure trades are processed accurately and in line with investment guidelines
- Identify and escalate compliance or mandate issues where necessary
Data & Systems
- Troubleshoot technical or data-related issues across systems
- Support system enhancements and process automation initiatives
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a numerate or analytical discipline
- Progress towards or completion of CFA Level I is preferred
- Experience with reporting, data analysis or investment support is advantageous
Technical Skills
- Confident user of Bloomberg, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets
- Familiarity with programming or data tools (SQL, VBA, R) is beneficial but not essential
- Basic understanding of databases or data management concepts
