JOB STATEMENT:

This internship will support two teams—Fund Operations and Investment Operations. The successful candidate will contribute to a range of initiatives that strengthen the Operations function, including process automation; process analysis to identify efficiency opportunities; support for semi-annual financial statement disclosures and regulatory reporting; development of a centralized team to support security master data; participation in enhancements to OMS and ABOR; tax reporting; workflow and cost analysis; support across the ETF life cycle; and other ad hoc projects, as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Financial Statements

  • Support the Financial Reporting team in preparing semi-annual financial statements for retail funds.
  • Support the Financial Reporting team in preparing the Management Report of Fund Performance (MRFP).

Process and Procedure Documentation (Charles River and Eagle)

  • Partner with Operations, Investments, Compliance, and Finance to document current workflows and controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce reliance on manual processes.

Security Master Data

  • Support the establishment of a centralized Security Master Data team.
  • Test and validate workflows to centralize the function and intake of requests from internal Guardian subsidiaries.
  • Maintain a single source of truth, including data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and defined refresh cadence.

ETF Life Cycle

  • Document the current end-to-end workflow for Guardian ETFs.
  • Track and communicate issues, changes, and enhancements across key stakeholders.

Cost Analysis

  • Track ETF and mutual fund sales data for internal reporting.
  • Assess the profitability of existing and proposed products.
  • Coordinate with service providers to communicate new services and enhancements as they are introduced.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate university program (Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Management, Data/Computer Science, Engineering, or related) and returning to school in the upcoming Fall semester.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and work independently.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, text functions, and basic Power Query) and SharePoint/OneDrive (or equivalent file systems).
  • Comfortable handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and written communication skills.

COMPENSATION:

  • Hourly rate: $25-$28 per hour (commensurate with experience).
