Job Description

ABOUT NEXTSTEP

NextStep connects top consulting talent with high-potential opportunities through smart, AI-powered matching. We partner with ambitious companies across sectors to place experienced professionals in roles where they can have a real impact. On behalf of a client in our partner network, we are currently looking for an Investor Relations Manager to join their team.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a FTSE 250 specialist finance and asset management business headquartered in London, with a market capitalisation of approximately £2.5bn. With a growing institutional investor base across the UK, Europe, and North America, and increasing sell-side analyst coverage, the business is investing in its IR capability to improve the quality and consistency of its capital markets communication. The IR Manager will work closely with the CFO and CEO on all investor-facing activity.

THE ROLE

As Investor Relations Manager, you will own the company's investor relations programme, managing the rhythm of investor communications, maintaining strong relationships with the institutional shareholder base, and supporting the CFO and CEO in presenting the company's equity story to the market. You will be the primary contact for institutional investors and sell-side analysts on a day-to-day basis.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage the investor relations calendar, including results reporting, capital markets events, investor days, and conference participation.
  • Prepare investor presentations, results scripts, Q&A documents, and regulatory announcements in collaboration with Finance and Communications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key institutional shareholders and sell-side analysts, tracking sentiment and flagging relevant feedback to the CFO.
  • Monitor and analyse shareholder register movements, market consensus, and peer group performance.
  • Support the CFO and CEO in preparation for investor meetings, earnings calls, and strategic announcements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 4–7 years of experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking (coverage or ECM), or a strategic finance role with IR exposure.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, equity valuation, and investor communication best practices.
  • Excellent written communication skills, able to draft polished investor materials with minimal review.
  • Comfortable in a high-visibility, fast-paced environment with tight regulatory deadlines.
  • Experience in financial services, asset management, or a capital markets context is strongly preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Base salary of £80,000 – £105,000, depending on experience.
  • Annual bonus with individual and company performance components.
  • Share incentive plan and long-term incentive awards.
  • Private health cover, pension, and 27 days holiday from the London office.
