Job Description

Due to expansion in strategy, a leading global hedge fund manager is seeking a highly motivated Junior Credit Analyst / Trading Desk Analyst to join their Singapore office.

Based in Singapore, you will be part of a 2-man team, working directly for and with the Lead Credit Portfolio Manager responsible for a Global ex US Credit Strategy. It is a excellent and rare opportunity for a junior sell side candidate to gain exposure in a tier 1 buy side brand and contributing first hand to the success of their credit strategy.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting in-depth credit trade research across high-yield corporates, sovereigns, and special situations (leveraged finance, distressed, public credit) for Asia, LatAm, European markets.
  • Monitoring markets, trading levels, catalysts, and macro drivers to generate and debate trade ideas.
  • Preparing concise analyses, trade rationales, and scenario outcomes to support investment decisions.
  • Supporting position reviews and risk considerations.
  • Collaborating closely with the Portfolio Manager on idea generation, with potential to assist with trade execution.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience from a sell-side banking background (e.g., investment banks, leveraged finance teams, credit trading desks, public credit research teams etc).
  • Strong functional expertise in fundamental credit research, and/ or trading desk analytics; or demonstrated deal experience in leveraged finance, distressed credit, or public credit transactions from another bank
  • An open-minded, proactive, and moldable approach, with a positive attitude to learn and contribute
  • A genuine enjoyment for intellectual stimulation and constructive debate.
  • Proficiency in credit analysis, understanding of event-driven situations, trading-level intuition, and strong analytical and communication skills.
  • An interest in global ex-US markets (Asia, Europe, LatAm).
  • Fluency in English is required. A second Asian language is advantageous though not a must.
