Job Description

Our client is seeking enthusiastic and bright recent graduates for a Junior Data Scientist position, designed as a comprehensive internship program. This is a fully remote opportunity, allowing you to build your career in data science from anywhere in the US. As a Junior Data Scientist, you will work alongside experienced professionals to analyze large datasets, develop predictive models, and extract actionable insights that drive business decisions. You will gain hands-on experience with various data science tools and techniques, including machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data visualization. The program is structured to provide extensive learning and development, covering areas such as data cleaning and preprocessing, feature engineering, model evaluation, and deployment. You will collaborate with different teams across the organization, applying your analytical skills to solve real-world business problems. We are looking for individuals with a strong academic background in quantitative fields such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline. A foundational understanding of programming languages like Python or R, along with familiarity with SQL databases, is essential. While prior internship experience is a plus, we are primarily seeking candidates with a passion for data, a strong analytical mindset, and a desire to learn and grow in a challenging yet supportive environment. Responsibilities:

Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets from various sources. Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms under supervision. Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations. Create data visualizations to communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborate with senior data scientists and other team members on ongoing projects. Contribute to the development and testing of predictive models. Document methodologies, code, and results clearly and concisely. Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in data science and machine learning. Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions. Learn and apply best practices in data management and analysis.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a closely related quantitative field, completed within the last 12 months. Strong understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning algorithms. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R. Familiarity with SQL for database querying. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau) is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team. Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies. Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines. Passion for data and its potential to solve business challenges.
