Our cliebt is seeking a Junior ETF / Quant Trader to support the build-out of our Hong Kong ETF trading desk. This role sits at the intersection of ETF execution, quantitative trading support, and market microstructure research, offering strong exposure to ETF lifecycle management, derivatives usage, and quantitative execution optimization.

Description
- ETF Trading Execution & Portfolio Management
- Execute daily ETF creation and redemption activities across Hong Kong-listed ETFs, including equity, leveraged/inverse, and alternative strategy ETFs
- Support ETF portfolio rebalancing and index adjustment trading, including basket trading and programmatic execution
- Manage related derivatives positions (futures, options, swaps) used for hedging, exposure management, and transition trading
- Monitor iNAV, PCF, cash vs. in-kind creations, and ensure accurate execution aligned with ETF structural mechanics
- Quantitative Trading Support
- Execute equity and futures orders generated by quantitative strategies in Hong Kong and overseas markets
- Work closely with quantitative research teams to:
- Select and evaluate execution algorithms
- Conduct post-trade transaction cost analysis (TCA)
- Identify opportunities to improve execution quality and reduce market impact
- Trading Research & Market Analysis
- Daily market monitoring and reporting, including:
- Liquidity and flow analysis
- ETF component stock movements
- Impact assessment of index reconstitutions and corporate actions
- Research ETF arbitrage and creation/redemption strategies, monitoring market-wide ETF pricing efficiency and arbitrage activity
- Conduct derivatives strategy research, including:
- Leveraged and covered strategies
- Backtesting and optimization of ETF-related derivative overlays
- Review of Hong Kong and international derivatives market rules and mechanics
Profile
- Experience & Market Knowledge
- Around 3 years of hands‑on trading experience in Hong Kong markets
- Hong Kong equities, futures, and options
- OTC derivatives such as equity swaps
- Direct experience with ETF primary- and secondary-market operations, including:
- Creation/redemption processes
- Basket trading and rebalancing execution
- Understanding of PCF, iNAV, and ETF operational structures
- Solid understanding of quantitative trading logic and execution methodologies
- Technical & Analytical Skills
- Advanced Bloomberg Terminal user, with 2+ years of trading and analytics experience
- Proficient in Python for:
- Simple automation and research scripts
- Professional Competencies
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written)
- Strong independent research ability with high data sensitivity and analytical rigor
- Excellent execution discipline, risk awareness, and attention to operational detail
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with portfolio managers, quants, operations, and risk teams
