Job Description

Join us as a Junior Structured Products Specialist and take up a role in the design, structuring, and ongoing management of structured investment solutions for our private banking clients (both UK and International) covered by UK based bankers.

This high-impact position sits within the Investments team, forming a critical bridge between front office stakeholders, infrastructure teams (legal, compliance, operations, finance), and external product providers.

You will be responsible for developing tailored products aligned with client goals and Barclays’ market outlook, managing the full product lifecycle from idea generation through to post-sale performance monitoring. Your role also includes platform and process enhancements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining relationships across both internal and external partners to ensure successful delivery and continuous innovation in our structured product offering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Originate, structure, and manage structured products aligned with Barclays Research and client needs.
  • Source competitive pricing, coordinate with external issuers, and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle—from launch to maturity—and provide post-sales insights and analysis.
  • Involvement in platform development projects to enhance product delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with legal, compliance, and operations to ensure regulatory and risk requirements are fully met.
  • Provide support to Senior members of the Structured Products team, and sales desk, where needed.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in structured products and derivatives across asset classes.
  • An understanding of private client investment needs and distribution channels.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder relationships skills, especially across front office and support teams.

Desirable Skills:

  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Experience operating in a matrixed, cross-regional environment.
  • Relevant finance qualifications (e.g. CFA, MBA, MiF).

This role is based in London.

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

Purpose of the role

To act as a bridge between Product teams and clients, providing in-depth knowledge and support for a specific range of products.

Accountabilities

  • Provision of SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks and compliance
  • Understanding of market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, and analysis of data obtained from sales figures and, customer feedback, to support the product development process, and communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders to improve product offerings.
  • Response to customer inquiries and obtain a detailed understanding of complex personal / corporate financial circumstances in order to provide options for suitable product solutions. Support with resolution of issues, and provision of guidance on product usage.
  • Assistance with the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as pitch materials and client presentations.
  • Participation in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other stakeholders.
