This role requires strong technical capability, hands-on engineering aptitude, and an aviation-oriented background such as RC modeling, simulator flying, or similar experience. The ideal candidate is a technically driven individual who can operate UAV platforms while also contributing to integration, testing, troubleshooting, and system validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing UAV test flights in accordance with test protocols, safety procedures, and performance objectives.
  • Execute pre-flight checks, flight test briefings, and post-flight analyses under the supervision of the Chief UAV Test Pilot.
  • Operate diverse UAV platforms including fixed-wing, VTOL, and Drone-in-a-Box systems, focusing on validation and performance evaluation.
  • Participate in integration activities including sensors, communication systems, avionics modules, and mission-specific payloads.
  • Perform hands-on technical tasks such as wiring checks, hardware installation, system calibration, and basic UAV maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot system issues during ground and flight testing and provide rapid technical feedback to engineering teams.
  • Contribute to the preparation of test plans, test cards, and technical procedures for both ground and flight activities.
  • Record and analyze test data, supporting engineering teams with structured feedback and system performance insights.
  • Strictly adhere to Phantom Labs safety standards, aviation regulations, and operational policies during testing operations.
  • Maintain clear and concise communication with the Chief UAV Test Pilot and multidisciplinary teams involved in rapid UAV development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of aviation experience; UAV experience strongly preferred.
