Job Summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced AV Engineer to support the continued growth of a leading global systems integrator’s audiovisual services team. This role requires a strong blend of AV system design, bill of materials (BOM) development, implementation, and hands‑on installation experience, with a strong focus on corporate and enterprise conference room environments.

The AV Engineer will work across client sites and corporate headquarters for enterprise customers such as Google and SAP, delivering high‑quality, scalable AV solutions. This position is ideal for someone who can contribute from design through commissioning and confidently operate in both technical and customer‑facing environments.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
  • CTS or CTS‑D certification (AV Network Professional® Certification a plus)
  • Proven experience as an AV Engineer or related role
  • Strong experience with AV control systems such as Crestron, Extron, AMX, or QSC
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design tools for system layouts
  • Hands‑on experience with AV installation, configuration, and commissioning
  • Strong understanding of acoustics, sound system design, and DSP configuration
  • Expertise in networking and IP‑based AV solutions
  • Experience designing AV systems from a design, BOM, and implementation perspective
  • Comfortable working with cabling, wiring, and low‑voltage electrical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Ability to lift and carry AV equipment as required
  • Strong attention to compliance, safety standards, and best practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel to client sites nationwide

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AV systems tailored to client requirements
  • Perform installation and setup of:
  • Conference room AV systems
  • Video conferencing solutions
  • Projectors, displays, and sound systems
  • Configure, calibrate, and commission AV systems for optimal performance
  • Perform troubleshooting and break/fix support across AV environments
  • Collaborate with network and IT teams to integrate AV systems into enterprise infrastructure
  • Read and interpret detailed system diagrams, architectural drawings, and technical documentation
  • Manage and document equipment inventory and project deliverables
  • Provide technical support, documentation, and end‑user training
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Stay current with evolving AV technologies and industry trends

Advanced Technical Capabilities

Design & Documentation

  • Review architectural, MEP, and AV construction drawings
  • Identify design conflicts, integration gaps, and coordination issues
  • Provide technical recommendations and value‑engineering solutions

Testing, Calibration & Analysis

  • Perform acoustic analysis (STC, RT60, ambient noise measurements)
  • Calibrate DSPs, equalizers, microphones, and speaker arrays
  • Test and adjust lighting systems and control protocols (DALI, DMX)
  • Validate system performance against user and technical requirements

Cabling & Installation Expertise

  • Structured cabling experience across:
  • Network/Data: Cat6, Cat6a, Fiber
  • Video: HDMI, SDI, DisplayPort, HDBaseT
  • Audio: Analog, Dante, AES/EBU, XLR
  • Low‑voltage electrical and AV power circuits
  • Compliant cable routing, containment, labeling, and patching

Systems Integration & Commissioning

  • Configure, integrate, and commission AV control platforms
  • Install conferencing systems, displays, projectors, and audio processors
  • Conduct system testing, validation, and performance optimization
  • Deliver full system handovers including documentation and client training

Work Environment

  • Client offices and enterprise corporate headquarters
  • Combination of on‑site installation work and technical collaboration

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
