Our client, a prestigious automotive manufacturer known for its innovation and quality, is seeking an experienced Lead Automotive Systems Engineer specializing in Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) to join their advanced engineering team in Boston, Massachusetts, US . This critical role involves leading the development, integration, and validation of complex ADAS features, ensuring safety, performance, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of automotive electronics, sensor fusion, control systems, and software development processes.
Responsibilities:
Lead the system-level design and architecture for ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and surround-view systems. Define system requirements and specifications based on customer needs, regulatory standards, and market trends. Oversee the integration of various ADAS components, including sensors (radar, lidar, cameras), ECUs, and software modules. Develop and implement validation and verification strategies for ADAS functionalities, utilizing simulation, HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), and vehicle testing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, calibration engineers, and product planners, throughout the development lifecycle. Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables for ADAS development programs. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues identified during development and testing. Ensure adherence to automotive safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) and functional safety requirements. Mentor and guide junior systems engineers, fostering technical growth and expertise within the team. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices in automotive safety and autonomous driving. Contribute to the strategic roadmap for future ADAS and autonomous driving features. Author technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and release reports. Qualifications:
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in automotive systems engineering, with a strong focus on ADAS development. Proven experience with system architecture design, requirements definition, and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis). In-depth knowledge of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet). Experience with sensor fusion techniques and algorithms. Familiarity with automotive software development processes (e.g., AUTOSAR, Agile). Experience with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) and HIL systems. Strong understanding of ISO 26262 functional safety standards. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
