Humana's Enterprise Growth organization is on the lookout for a Lead Business Intelligence Analyst with extensive expertise in SQL, Power BI, and Python/PySpark to be part of our Growth Analytics & AI Team. This is a remote role allowing you to work from anywhere in the US. In this role, you will tackle intricate business challenges using data from both internal and external sources to provide valuable insights to decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & SQL
- Transform, clean, and enrich data from ADLS, SQL Server, and Oracle efficiently.
- Create curated, reusable datasets and semantic layers to enhance analytics and empower self-service BI.
Power BI (Advanced)
- Develop enterprise-grade Power BI solutions utilizing DAX, Power Query M, dataflows, and a combination of custom and standard visualizations.
- Optimize models for enhanced performance, governance, security (RLS/OLS), and best practices ensuring user adoption.
Python & PySpark
- Design and implement ETL/ELT processes using Python (PySpark) for massive data cleaning, transformation, analysis, and enrichment.
- Create applied NLP and GenAI features for analytics products and processes.
Data Orchestration
- Orchestrate data pipelines with Databricks Workflows and Fabric Data Factory/Azure Data Factory (or similar).
- Oversee schedules, dependencies, monitoring, and alerting to ensure smooth operations.
GenAI/LLM Development
- Implement techniques such as prompt engineering, embeddings, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), and evaluations to ensure safe, measurable outcomes.
Power Platform
- Develop or guide Power Apps (canvas/model-driven) to enhance operational insights and streamline business workflows.
- Utilize Power Automate to automate routine tasks and minimize manual efforts across teams.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and executives to shape tailored BI/AI strategies and roadmaps.
- Document architecture, lineage, and standard operating procedures; mentor team members on best practices.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience in data analysis OR Master's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Advanced experience managing large and complex data sets within substantial organizations.
- 5+ years of experience in SQL (ADLS, SQL Server, and Oracle) focusing on data cleaning, manipulation, enrichment, and analysis.
- 5+ years of Power BI experience, proficient in DAX, Power Query M, dataflows, and a range of visualizations.
- 2+ years of experience in Python (PySpark) with a focus on ETL, data tasks, NLP, and GenAI programming.
- 1+ year of experience with GenAI/Large Language Models, including prompt engineering, refinement, embedding, RAG, and evaluations.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate requirements among business, project management, and technical aspects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored for senior and executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree in quantitative fields such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related areas.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Familiarity with Data Orchestration using Databricks Workflows and Azure Data Factory or similar tools.
- Understanding of Power Apps, both canvas and model-driven app development.
- Experience with Power Automate for routine task automation.
- Expertise in Databricks and Synapse Analytics.
Additional Details
- This role is entirely remote but operates on CST/EST standard business hours.
