Our client is a dynamic and innovative chemical manufacturing company seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Chemical Process Engineer. This pivotal role involves overseeing the design, development, optimization, and troubleshooting of chemical processes to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality. The Lead Engineer will guide a team of engineers, drive process improvements, and contribute significantly to the company's operational excellence.

Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of new chemical processes and equipment. Optimize existing processes to improve yield, reduce costs, enhance safety, and minimize environmental impact. Conduct process simulations, modeling, and feasibility studies to evaluate potential improvements and new technologies. Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Perform Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and implement necessary safety measures. Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to maintain process integrity and efficiency. Manage capital projects related to process upgrades and new installations, including scope definition, budgeting, and contractor oversight. Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide technical training to operations personnel. Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless process integration and product quality. Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements in chemical engineering. Mentor and develop junior chemical engineers, providing technical guidance and support. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for management and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering, with a strong focus on process design, scale-up, and optimization. Proven leadership experience in managing engineering projects and teams. Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS), P&ID development, and PHA methodologies. Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, and reaction kinetics. Experience with project management, including budgeting and scheduling. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus. Familiarity with specific chemical manufacturing processes relevant to our industry is advantageous.
