Our client, a global leader in petrochemical innovation, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Chemical Research Scientist to drive cutting-edge research and development initiatives at their advanced facility in Houston, Texas . This role is central to exploring novel chemical processes, synthesizing new materials, and optimizing existing technologies to meet evolving market demands. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with a strong specialization in catalysis, polymer chemistry, or organic synthesis. You will be responsible for designing and executing complex research experiments, interpreting data, and developing innovative solutions to challenging scientific problems. Key responsibilities include leading research projects, mentoring junior scientists, collaborating with cross-functional teams (including process engineering and product development), and authoring scientific publications and patents. A proven track record of successful research outcomes, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities are essential. The candidate will also be expected to stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements and contribute to the intellectual property strategy of the company. This position requires hands-on laboratory experience and a deep understanding of modern analytical techniques. You will play a crucial role in advancing our client's technological capabilities and driving product innovation in the chemical industry. Expertise in scale-up considerations and process development from a research perspective is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and conduct advanced research in areas such as catalysis, polymer science, or organic synthesis. Design, execute, and analyze complex chemical experiments. Develop and optimize novel chemical processes and materials. Collaborate with engineering and product teams on technology transfer and scale-up. Mentor and guide junior research scientists and technicians. Author technical reports, research papers, and patent applications. Present research findings at scientific conferences and internal meetings. Maintain a state-of-the-art laboratory environment and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Stay current with scientific literature and emerging trends in chemical research.
