Job Responsibilities & Duties

  • L2/L3 skillset including install, configure, upgrade, patch and harden Oracle database multiple platforms (Linux/Windows, On Premise/Cloud).
  • Proven expertise in configure and maintain data replication using Quest SharePlex.
  • L2 skill in MSSQL skillset including install, configure, update, patching the Database.
  • Support databases in high availability and disaster recovery setup.
  • Monitor and analyze database performance, and tune operating system to improve performance, optimize processing response time or to reflect required changes in the processing environment.
  • Perform capacity study to analyze current resource utilization and estimate future requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with IT security standards, policies and procedures for the installation and secure operations of databases, supports internal and external audit exercises for the maintenance of various certifications and contractual requirements.
  • Participate in the problem management process to determine the impact of identified systems errors on processing service levels and to prioritize problem resolution resources.
  • Participate in the change management process to test and evaluate changes in the operating systems environment before cutover to the operational system.
  • Work closely with Application Development group/System team to provide technical support, advice and implementation to the various phases of development (DEV), user acceptance testing (UAT), production (PROD) and disaster recovery (DR) where applicable, for all database systems.
  • Maintain and implement database backup & recovery strategy.
  • Be a part of 24x7 support team.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline

Working Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in managing Oracle database (19c/26i)
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in MS SQL Server (2019/2022)

Skills Required:

Must-have skills

  • Proven experience in Quest SharePlex
  • Experience in management of Oracle RAC and/or Data Guard

Preferable skills

  • Experience in other database products (HP Non Stop SQL MX, MySQL, Yugabyte, etc) would be a plus
  • Experience in scripting using SQL, shell, powershell, etc
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Possess good analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills
