As a Lead Electrical Engineer in our Orlando, FL office, you will collaborate with a talented team dedicated to delivering integrated building services design. Our expertise includes power system planning, power distribution, lighting design, fire and life safety systems, as well as low and medium voltage distribution systems and construction coordination.

In this role, you will manage multiple projects and leverage your extensive experience to design and analyze electrical systems in various sectors, including industrial, commercial, hospitality, grocery, and retail. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing comprehensive low and medium voltage electrical systems encompassing power, lighting, fire alarm, and signaling systems.
  • Creating innovative lighting systems along with associated control systems.
  • Conducting load analysis for various design stages.
  • Leading a design team to develop detailed electrical system drawings.
  • Preparing a basis of design report for each project.
  • Documenting project energy compliance with relevant energy codes.
  • Selecting and specifying electrical equipment suited for the project.
  • Coordinating with engineers from other disciplines (mechanical, life safety, etc.) and collaborating closely with project architects.
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding clients and projects.

This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days in the office each week, based in Orlando, FL. Please note that no immigration sponsorship is available for this position.

To be considered, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 8+ years of Electrical Engineering experience, preferably at a MEP firm with a focus on Mission Critical applications, and experience in designing medium-voltage distribution systems and emergency generation.
  • Proven experience with project deliverables such as design reports, drawings, and specifications for power distribution, including short circuit calculations, voltage drops, load calculations, power factor, sizing of equipment, conduit, conductors, and schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards: NEC, IES, NFPA 70E, IEEE Color Book Series.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SKM or ETAP, and other computer-based lighting software.

In addition, it would be beneficial if you have:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • LEED Accreditation and experience with LEED or other green rating systems.
  • Experience in data centers, power systems, UPS systems, and generator systems.
