Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems to join their dynamic team in Dallas, Texas, US . This critical role involves leading the design, development, and implementation of complex power distribution and control systems for a variety of industrial and commercial applications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of power engineering principles, project leadership capabilities, and a commitment to innovation and safety.

Responsibilities:

Lead the electrical design process for projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards, codes, and client specifications. Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP). Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and protection coordination using ETAP or similar software. Specify and select electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, generators, and UPS systems. Oversee the commissioning and testing of electrical systems, ensuring proper functionality and safety. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and construction personnel, to ensure seamless project execution. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers. Manage electrical project budgets and schedules, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery. Review and approve design documents prepared by other team members. Stay current with the latest advancements in electrical engineering technologies and best practices in power systems. Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues during project execution and in operational systems. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on power systems design. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas is highly preferred. Proven experience leading electrical engineering projects and teams. Expertise in power system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, PSS/E). Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software. In-depth knowledge of NEC, NESC, and other relevant electrical codes and standards. Experience with industrial automation and control systems is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet stringent deadlines.
