Are you an experienced Electronics Engineer with a passion for precision systems and team leadership? This is a unique opportunity to lead the development of advanced electronic platforms, working on highly sensitive, low-noise instrumentation at the cutting edge of technology.
You’ll head up a multidisciplinary team, driving the design, integration, and optimisation of complex electronic systems from concept through to prototype and testing.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading and managing a team of engineers developing high-precision, low-noise electronic systems
- Designing and optimising analogue circuits, including low-noise amplifiers and signal chains
- Integrating electronic and mechanical systems into complex platforms
- Supporting lab automation through electronic and electromechanical solutions
- Driving cross-functional collaboration across electronics, mechanical, and software teams
- Improving performance through noise reduction, shielding, and signal integrity techniques
- Implementing signal processing approaches to enhance system performance
- Conducting circuit simulation and modelling (e.g. SPICE tools)
- Producing technical documentation, specifications, and reports
- Working with external partners on PCB design, fabrication, and testing
- Staying up to date with advancements in precision electronics and sensing technologies
What we’re looking for
- MSc or PhD in Electronics / Electrical Engineering
- Strong experience in analogue electronics, particularly low-noise design and instrumentation systems
- Proven experience with PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence, Allegro, etc.) and multilayer board design
- Deep understanding of signal integrity, grounding, shielding, and noise mitigation
- Hands-on experience with testing and debugging electronic systems (oscilloscopes, analysers, etc.)
- Experience across the full lifecycle: design ? simulation ? prototype ? test ? integration
- Programming experience (C, C++, Python) for test and hardware bring-up
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- Experience with analogue or mixed-signal ASIC design
- Knowledge of embedded systems / microcontrollers
- Background in life sciences instrumentation or medical devices
