Our client, a major manufacturing and logistics firm, is seeking a highly skilled Lead Industrial Engineer to spearhead operations optimization initiatives. This role, based in Phoenix, Arizona, US , will focus on improving efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness across manufacturing processes, supply chain, and operational workflows. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical aptitude, expertise in lean manufacturing principles, and a proven ability to implement impactful process improvements.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of improved operational processes and systems. Analyze existing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and develop data-driven solutions for enhancement. Apply lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and improve quality. Develop and utilize simulation models, statistical analysis, and other tools to evaluate process changes. Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation for new and improved processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, supply chain, and management, to implement changes. Train and mentor junior industrial engineers and operational staff on process improvement techniques. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of implemented initiatives. Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed operational changes. Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in industrial engineering and operations management. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, operations management, or process improvement. Proven experience in leading and implementing significant operational improvement projects. Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred), and other continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Experience in manufacturing or logistics environments is essential.
