Our client, a global leader in advanced manufacturing, is seeking an innovative Lead Industrial Engineer to spearhead process optimization initiatives. This is a fully remote position, empowering you to drive significant improvements from anywhere in the US.
As the Lead Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing complex production systems, identifying inefficiencies, and developing data-driven solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality. You will lead projects focused on lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement. This role requires a strong understanding of simulation, modeling, and statistical analysis. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, and product development, to implement sustainable process changes. Your ability to lead and mentor junior engineers, present findings to stakeholders, and manage project timelines will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of industrial engineering projects focused on process improvement. Analyze production processes, workflows, and operational data to identify areas for optimization. Develop and apply methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to drive efficiency gains. Utilize simulation and modeling tools to test and validate proposed process improvements. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor process performance. Develop and implement standards for production and operational procedures. Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to integrate new processes and technologies. Prepare detailed reports and presentations on project findings and recommendations. Mentor and guide junior industrial engineers and contribute to their professional development. Ensure that all process improvements align with safety, quality, and environmental standards. Qualifications:
Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on process optimization and manufacturing environments. Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred), and continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management abilities. Experience in a remote collaborative environment. Knowledge of manufacturing systems and automation. Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
