Our client, a global manufacturing leader, is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Industrial Process Engineer to join their team in Chicago, Illinois, US . This role is pivotal in driving process improvements, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of quality across all manufacturing operations. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and expertise in areas such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical process control. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial engineering principles, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for implementing data-driven solutions. Your responsibilities will include analyzing existing processes, identifying bottlenecks, and developing innovative solutions to enhance throughput and reduce waste. You will also be involved in the design and implementation of new production lines, collaborating closely with R&D, operations, and quality assurance teams. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership capabilities and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Key responsibilities include:
Leading and mentoring a team of industrial engineers and technicians. Developing and implementing process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Conducting detailed analyses of production processes to identify areas for optimization. Designing and validating new manufacturing processes and equipment. Implementing lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. Utilizing statistical process control (SPC) to monitor and improve quality. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes. Developing and maintaining process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting on process performance. Ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Qualifications:
Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred), and process optimization techniques. Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data interpretation. Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools. Excellent project management and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities. Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is essential.
