Our client seeks a highly experienced and innovative Lead Industrial Process Engineer to join our manufacturing operations team in the heart of **New York City, New York, US**. This is a critical on-site role responsible for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and driving cost reductions across our manufacturing facilities. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and project oversight. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in industrial engineering, process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma), and a deep understanding of manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include analyzing current production workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to enhance throughput and quality. You will develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions. This role requires strong project management skills to lead cross-functional teams in implementing process changes, new technologies, and equipment upgrades. You will also be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and ensuring that all processes comply with safety regulations and environmental standards. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field is required, along with significant experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment. Experience with simulation software, CAD, and statistical analysis tools is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage industrial engineering projects from conception to completion. Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost. Develop and implement process optimization strategies using methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. Design, evaluate, and improve manufacturing layouts and workflows. Oversee the selection, installation, and validation of new manufacturing equipment and technologies. Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and training materials. Mentor and guide a team of industrial engineers and technicians. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, quality, R&D) to ensure seamless process integration. Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency and quality. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering within a manufacturing environment. 5+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory role. Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred). Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic), CAD, and statistical analysis tools. Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain, and quality control. Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
