Day to Day Responsibilities

In the role of a Lead Machine Learning Engineer, you will spearhead the Marketplace Efficiency - Job Reach team, focusing on maintaining a thriving environment for job advertisers. You will take ownership of significant workstreams, influence the team's technical strategy, and mentor others to meet product and technical objectives. Daily tasks will encompass exploring data, defining problem statements, developing and implementing predictive models, executing high-quality experiments, and guiding the team accordingly. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, promoting the team's achievements, and staying abreast of industry advancements are essential aspects of this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine search algorithms for enhanced accuracy and relevance, ultimately improving user experience.
  • Test and scale innovative Machine Learning models to production while conducting iterative A/B experiments in conjunction with other teams to optimize our matching technology.
  • Define project priorities, deliverables, and success metrics in collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Serve as an effective communication bridge between technical and non-technical team members, ensuring clear understanding of project objectives.
  • Mentor and support the growth of software engineers and Machine Learning Engineers across different teams.
  • Break down larger Machine Learning projects into manageable tasks that deliver incremental business value and guide the team in their implementation.
  • Represent our company at major Machine Learning conferences, such as NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience.
  • Proven track record of deploying impactful Machine Learning solutions at scale while collaborating across teams.
  • Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.
  • A sense of ownership and accountability as a key contributor in both technical and product landscapes.
  • Hands-on experience using Deep Learning Libraries (like Torch, TensorFlow, etc.).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, effective when addressing both technical and business audiences.

Salary Transparency

Our salary ranges are set based on geographic tiers, reflecting variances in labor costs. Typical offers are made between the range minimum and midpoint. Actual compensation will depend on the candidate's skills, experience, and expertise.
