Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Manufacturing Process Engineer to drive innovation and efficiency in their production operations. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who thrives in a remote-first environment and can expertly guide manufacturing processes from afar. The successful candidate will be instrumental in optimizing existing production lines, developing new manufacturing strategies, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and output. You will leverage cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to solve complex manufacturing challenges and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process automation.
Responsibilities: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes and systems across multiple production facilities, with a strong emphasis on remote oversight and collaboration. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistency and quality. Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement, utilizing remote monitoring tools and analytics. Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration of new products and processes. Spearhead initiatives to improve yield, reduce waste, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions. Manage and mentor a team of process engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development, even in a distributed setting. Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technologies, automation, and industry best practices. Oversee the validation and qualification of new equipment and processes. Champion safety protocols and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in manufacturing process engineering, with a proven track record of leadership. Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification highly desirable). Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis techniques. Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and project management skills, essential for effective remote leadership. Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools is a plus. Experience in a remote-first or highly distributed team environment is highly advantageous.
