Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team in Dallas, Texas, US . This is an on-site position, offering a unique opportunity to lead critical engineering projects and mentor a talented team of mechanical engineers. The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of complex mechanical systems and components, ensuring high standards of performance, quality, and reliability.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the entire engineering lifecycle, from concept generation and feasibility studies to detailed design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support. You will lead the mechanical engineering team in tackling challenging design problems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets. This role involves performing complex calculations, simulations, and analyses (e.g., FEA, CFD) to validate designs. You will also be responsible for defining technical specifications, creating detailed engineering drawings and documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and promoting best practices in mechanical design and analysis. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, manufacturing personnel, and project managers, is essential to ensure seamless product development. You will also contribute to strategic technical planning, identifying new technologies and methodologies to enhance the company's engineering capabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. A strong portfolio of successfully delivered complex mechanical engineering projects is required. Proficiency in CAD/CAE software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS) and a deep understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and machine design principles are essential. Experience with manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, injection molding, assembly) is highly desirable. The ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable engineering plans and motivate a team to achieve ambitious goals is critical.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred. A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or supervisory role, is mandatory. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus. This is a demanding, on-site role located in Dallas, Texas, US , requiring full engagement with project teams and operational activities.
