Job Description

Our client, a pioneering chemical manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Process Chemical Engineer to join their state-of-the-art facility in Austin, Texas, US . This role is integral to optimizing production processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in our chemical manufacturing operations. The Lead Process Chemical Engineer will oversee process design, development, and troubleshooting, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and new technologies. Key responsibilities include:

Leading the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. Conducting process simulations, modeling, and data analysis to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction. Troubleshooting and resolving complex process issues that arise during manufacturing. Developing and implementing process improvements and new technologies to enhance production capabilities. Overseeing the scale-up of laboratory processes to pilot plant and full-scale production. Ensuring adherence to all safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control protocols. Collaborating with R&D, production, and engineering teams to achieve project goals. Preparing detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, operating manuals, and technical reports. Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance on process engineering principles. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in chemical engineering, process technology, and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and possess a minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry. A strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer is essential. Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and experience with P&ID development are required. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are paramount. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and reporting to management. This position is based on-site in Austin, Texas, US .
