Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for novel advanced materials. Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality, yield, and safety. Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Utilize process simulation and modeling tools to predict process behavior and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure successful scale-up of new materials from lab to commercial production. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and training materials. Manage projects related to process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new technology implementation. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and operations personnel. Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and company policies. Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains. Work closely with Quality Assurance to establish and maintain robust quality control systems. Champion continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. Qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the chemical, materials, or advanced manufacturing industries. Demonstrated expertise in process design, optimization, scale-up, and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), and data analysis techniques. Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) is highly desirable. Proven ability to lead projects and manage cross-functional teams in a remote setting. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams. Familiarity with various manufacturing technologies relevant to advanced materials production. Experience with project management methodologies and tools. Commitment to safety and quality excellence.
