The Lead Process Engineer oversees the redesign and digitization of complex business workflows for a large operational modernization program. This role leads process engineering efforts, collaborates with IT and business stakeholders, ensures quality and compliance, and drives the transition from manual, paper-based processes to streamlined digital systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle process redesign initiatives from analysis through implementation.
  • Assess current-state workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with business units, IT teams, and executive leadership.
  • Design optimized future-state digital workflows aligned with organizational goals and user needs.
  • Ensure redesigned processes meet quality, compliance, security, and accessibility standards.
  • Create project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and milestone tracking for engineering tasks.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and communication to ensure alignment and adoption.
  • Develop documentation such as process maps, gap analyses, corrective action plans, and integration roadmaps.
  • Support change management activities and guide teams through workflow transitions.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to process engineers and analysts supporting the program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering , Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in process engineering or business process optimization.
  • Proven experience transitioning organizations from manual to digital workflows.
  • Experience collaborating with internal IT departments on workflow automation and system integration.
  • Understanding of labor relations considerations (union environments preferred).
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms such as SharePoint, Power Automate, or Service Now (preferred).
