Job Title: Lead Process Engineer
Compensation: $200k - $350k + Bonus & Equity

The Client:
Join a dynamic and rapidly expanding advanced materials company dedicated to developing low carbon technologies aimed at fortifying critical metal supply chains. This innovative firm specializes in scaling unique metallurgical processes from pilot projects to commercial-scale operations, partnering closely with engineering firms and EPCs to construct safe and efficient, groundbreaking industrial plants. The environment encourages high ownership, promoting a swift transition from research to full-scale production that supports essential energy and defense sectors.
The Responsibilities:
- Lead the scale-up of metallization processes from laboratory and pilot systems to demonstration-scale operations.
- Own key process engineering deliverables, including P&IDs, PFDs, and control narratives.
- Oversee the design and specification of custom equipment, lead vendor selection, and manage FAT/SAT activities and fabrication through third-party suppliers.
- Plan and lead HAZOP, LOPA, and safety reviews; implement necessary safeguards.
- Collaborate with EPC contractors to ensure all targets are met from initial startup to project completion.
- Create commissioning plans, develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), and produce training materials; support plant ramp-up and long-term reliability improvements.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing processes as needed.
- Identify potential risks proactively, resolve challenges swiftly, and function effectively in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
The Requirements:
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Process and/or Project Engineer in the Energy, Chemical, and/or Metallurgical industries.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, control strategies, HAZOP/LOPA methodologies, and regulatory documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to guide projects from inception to deployment successfully.
- Experienced in delivering projects and processes safely, on time, and within budget.
- Proficient in collaborating with and managing EPC contractors.
- Experience in high temperature, vacuum, and/or thermal processes is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience in plant startups, commissioning, and operating environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of CAD software and data analysis tools is advantageous.
