Lead Product Designer

Goody is hiring a Lead Product Designer who has an excellent visual eye and is motivated by building delightful products.

Goody is a gifting platform that makes personal and professional gifting easy — you don’t need an address, and you don’t need to worry if your recipient prefers something else, since they can swap their gift. We also offer an API to plug in gifting and commerce to any app.

We help people celebrate milestones, recognize achievements, close deals, and make clients feel valued through thoughtful gifts that make people’s days. Founded 5 years ago, our product is used by Google, Stripe, Meta, Anthropic, Notion, NBCUniversal, DHL, and others.

Despite being something everyone does, gifting is one of the areas of commerce yet to be disrupted, and our mission is to capture that market opportunity and spread joy and positivity.

And with Goody being co-founded by a designer, we view design as absolutely central to our mission.

FOR DESIGNERS WHO LOVE TO CRAFT EXPERIENCES: YOU’LL BE WORKING ON A PRODUCT WHERE THE GOAL IS DELIGHT.

• Gifting is meant to be experiential. We have a lot of fun crafting the experience to be fun, and we consider how each screen impacts the emotional experience, such as our gift unwrap experience https://accept.ongoody.com/preview/3838c720-4ef8-4f6e-9bee-1750fed0f40e which has a neat (and customizable) animation designed to immerse the recipient.

• We worked with XYZ Type to tailor our own typeface (this one!) when we couldn’t find one off the shelf that conveyed our vibe.

• And we have big ambitions for how to make the experience even better and more fun (for which we could use your ideas and taste!)

FOR DESIGNERS WHO LOVE OWNERSHIP AND IMPACT: YOU’LL HAVE DEEP OWNERSHIP OVER PROJECTS THAT IMPACT THE SUCCESS OF OUR COMPANY.

• You’d work directly with me (Mark), the co-founder, CTO, and Head of Product, to build our key projects, and we’ll bounce ideas between and challenge each other, which will ultimately lead to the best work.

• And as you might expect in a tight-knit startup, you’ll be responsible for full features and will heavily impact our users’ experience of our product, and ultimately the success of the company.

• Gifting is one of the areas of commerce yet to be revolutionized. We are in an excellent position to win this market, in part because Goody is the design leader in the gifting space, offering the best UI/UX for business gifting.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Design user interfaces and experiences for Goody’s responsive web application, including the sender experience (ecommerce and SaaS) and recipient gift experience

• Since product and design are inextricably interlinked, collaborate with product to evolve product direction based on findings in the design process

• Understand user needs through feedback, testing, research, and gathering information from users and stakeholders

• Evolve Goody’s design language to changing needs and new feature development

• Explore ways to integrate AI/ML in non-BS, actually useful ways

• This is an IC, non-management role, so you can focus on creating

LOCATION

Remote in North America timezones. US and Canada preferred. Salary range is adjusted to take locality into account outside of US and Canada.
