We're investing in building a team of Quality Engineers who are inquisitive, they challenge and always take initiative. We expect these traits mirrored within our leadership team with the ability to coach others. You'll be responsible for steering and guiding a team, helping them prioritise their own workload, take their careers into their own hands and hold them accountable.

You'll need to be...

• An excellent communicator. Specifically where stakeholder engagement is concerned. You'll possess the ability to influence, shape and set clear expectations, also realigning where needed.

• Clear in your reporting, ensuring all stakeholders are well informed and up to date with progress, challenges and timescales.

• A Quality Engineering Lead who is comfortable working at the infrastructure layer and leading from the front.

• Able to assure the quality, stability and security of a large scale AWS based platform used within a highly secure environment.

• Experienced working with multiple platform product teams responsible for areas such as identity, compute, account management, observability, and end-user services. The platform infrastructure is defined and deployed through Infrastructure as Code and this role will help ensure automated validation and testing is embedded across the deployment lifecycle.

• A guide for a small team of engineers, promoting a culture of curiosity, accountability and continuous improvement. As the platform transitions from a large-scale programme into BAU operations, you'll help establish consistent testing practices and ensure infrastructure changes can be validated reliably through automation.

• Experienced in dealing with supplier contracts and technical proposal writing (RFCs).

Technical Landscape:

We're looking for someone who has experience working with the below tools and technologies.

Infrastructure & Cloud

• AWS cloud platform

• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform

• Infrastructure validation using Terratest

Automation & Testing

• Python test automation (Pytest / BDD)

• AWS SDK with Python

• Infrastructure and platform validation testing

• Integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines

Platform & Systems

• Solid Linux administration experience

• Ansible playbooks and configuration management

• Basic PowerShell knowledge would be beneficial

Delivery & Tooling

• CI/CD pipelines

• Git-based workflows

• Jira, Confluence, Zephyr

Performance Testing

• Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter
