This critical role demands a visionary scientist with a profound understanding of cancer biology and a proven ability to lead innovative research projects from discovery to preclinical development. You will be responsible for designing and executing complex experiments, interpreting data, and contributing to the strategic direction of our client's oncology pipeline. This includes identifying novel therapeutic targets, developing innovative drug candidates, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance promising compounds through the development process.

The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or a related field, coupled with extensive post-doctoral experience and a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in oncology drug discovery and development is required, demonstrating expertise in areas such as cell signaling pathways, tumor microenvironment, immunotherapy, or targeted therapies. You should have a deep understanding of preclinical models of cancer and experience with various in vitro and in vivo assays. Leadership experience, including the ability to mentor junior scientists, manage research projects, and foster a collaborative and innovative research environment, is essential. This role involves close collaboration with medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, and clinical development teams. A strategic mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex scientific findings effectively to diverse audiences, including senior management and regulatory bodies, are crucial for success. Responsibilities: Lead the design and execution of innovative research projects in oncology drug discovery. Identify and validate novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers for cancer treatment. Develop and optimize in vitro and in vivo preclinical models for evaluating drug efficacy and safety. Characterize the mechanism of action of novel therapeutic agents. Analyze and interpret complex biological data, drawing sound conclusions and making strategic recommendations. Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and toxicologists. Mentor and guide junior research scientists, fostering their professional development. Prepare research reports, scientific publications, and presentations for internal and external audiences. Contribute to the strategic planning and prioritization of the oncology research portfolio. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in cancer research and therapeutic modalities. Ensure compliance with all relevant laboratory safety protocols and regulatory guidelines. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field. 8+ years of post-doctoral and industry experience in oncology drug discovery. Extensive knowledge of cancer biology, signaling pathways, and immunotherapy. Proven expertise in a range of cell-based assays and preclinical animal models. Strong publication record in high-impact journals. Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring junior scientists. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Superb written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly. Experience with data analysis software and bioinformatics tools. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
