LNG Trading & Market Analyst
Overview
An established energy company is seeking an LNG Trading & Market Analyst in Singapore to support short‑term trading and mid‑term origination activities. The role partners closely with traders and risk teams, providing market analysis, forecasts, and data‑driven insights to support trading and portfolio decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse global LNG supply–demand fundamentals, pricing, shipping, infrastructure and geopolitical developments
- Monitor LNG, natural gas, oil prices, freight rates, inventories and seasonal demand drivers
- Develop and maintain LNG market models, forecasts and forward price curves (including illiquid tenors)
- Provide analytical support for trade evaluation, cargo transactions, portfolio optimisation and hedging strategies
- Analyse logistics and freight economics to improve margins while balancing security of supply considerations
- Produce regular market updates, dashboards and presentations for traders and senior management
- Track trading performance and key P&L drivers, ensuring data integrity and continuous improvement of analytics
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, finance, engineering, mathematics or a related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in LNG trading analytics or equivalent market analysis roles
- Strong understanding of the LNG value chain and major LNG pricing indices (e.g. JKM, TTF, Henry Hub, Brent)
- Experience with market intelligence providers or commodity trading firms is advantageous
- Strong analytical, modelling and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, fast‑paced trading environment
- Japanese language skills are advantageous but not mandatory
- Willingness to travel occasionally
