As a Machine Learning Data Scientist, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on creating innovative machine learning models and recommender systems that make our vision a reality.
Essential Functions
Analytics & Business Partnering (70%)
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand business objectives/KPIs, designing and executing analytical solutions that drive decision-making and improve outcomes.
- Dive into data, detect anomalies, and provide actionable insights to support business partners.
- Conduct precise analyses utilizing available tools to inform strategy.
- Predict, test, and measure the impact of organizational initiatives on business outcomes.
- Regularly update and share reports, dashboards, and presentations with executive leadership.
- Enhance organizational efficiency by improving the speed of converting data into actionable insights.
- Respond to ad hoc data requests to assist business partners.
- Lead the development of processes that effectively utilize data for performance management.
Development, Machine Learning & Maintenance (30%)
- Train and test both supervised and unsupervised machine learning models for predicting outcomes and customer segmentation.
- Collaborate with IT to implement machine learning models into production environments.
- Manage automated ETL processes and maintain business intelligence & database servers alongside IT.
- Work on enhancing BI capabilities for ease of use by business users.
- Take part in projects aimed at improving data governance, master data management, and business intelligence capabilities.
- Ensure data integrity by continuously validating data sources and addressing issues collaboratively.
- Develop algorithms for cleansing and standardizing diverse data sets.
- Integrate new data sources into existing datasets to improve reliability and access.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
- 2-5 years of experience in a combined business and technical role responsible for development and results delivery is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills demonstrated through prior roles/projects in Data Science.
- Experience in training and implementing machine learning models.
- Proficient programming skills, particularly in Python.
- Advanced knowledge of databases and SQL.
- Extensive experience with Business Intelligence tools, such as PowerBI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Databricks is an advantage.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of common data formats like CSV, JSON, XML, etc.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic environment with change and ambiguity.
- Capability to handle large, complex data sets effectively.
- Strong business acumen and retail insight to guide analytical insights.
- Proven ability to convey stories through data and communicate with various stakeholders.
- Adept at managing multiple priorities within deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
