The Opportunity
TELUS Digital is seeking a Manager – Systems Engineering to lead the delivery of client-facing engineering engagements across North America, with oversight and collaboration across global delivery teams. This role sits at the front line of execution and client engagement, combining hands-on delivery leadership with a consulting mindset.
As a Manager, you will oversee complex systems engineering initiatives, work directly with clients to translate business needs into enterprise-scale technology solutions, and coordinate with global delivery teams to drive consistent quality and operational excellence. You will play a critical role in delivery success, client satisfaction, and account expansion, while developing high-performing teams across North America and leveraging expertise from global centers.

Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Engagement
- Act as the primary delivery lead for assigned client engagements.
- Participate in and help lead client discovery workshops, solution design sessions, and executive briefings.
- Translate business objectives into actionable cross-regional delivery plans aligned to engineering outcomes.
- Communicate delivery progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to client stakeholders.
Delivery Excellence
- Lead end-to-end delivery of systems engineering, integration, application modernization, and managed services initiatives.
- Manage day-to-day execution across global delivery teams, ensuring quality, velocity, and consistency.
- Track delivery KPIs, milestones, risks, and dependencies to ensure predictable outcomes
- Ensure adherence to delivery standards, governance, and risk controls.
- Identify automation, tooling, and process improvement opportunities to improve reliability and cost efficiency.
Commercial Support & Account Growth
- Support sales and account teams through delivery-led solutioning, estimation, and discovery workshops.
- Identify expansion opportunities within existing engagements based on delivery insights.
- Contribute to proposals and client conversations where delivery credibility is critical.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor engineers, analysts, and technical leads across engagements.
- Foster a consulting mindset, ownership, structured problem-solving, and client empathy.
- Provide performance feedback, coaching, and career development guidance to both local and distributed teams.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in technology consulting in systems engineering.
- Exposure to advisory, implementation and support delivery models.
- Strong client-facing skills with the ability to engage confidently with managers, directors and executives.
- Experience working in global or distributed delivery teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
Technology Expertise
- Enterprise application development and integration across legacy and modern platforms.
- Middleware, ETL, and API-based system integration.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and DevOps practices to guide modernization, integration, and deployment solutions.
- Familiarity with AI-driven tools supporting the software development lifecycle (e.g., code generation, automated testing, deployment automation, and delivery analytics).
- AI/ML-enabled automation for enterprise systems delivery (preferred) to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
- Awareness of managed services operations, including SLA adherence, monitoring, incident/problem/change management, and operational KPIs.
