The Senior Applications Development Leader leads the IT team in the analysis, programming, and configuration of end user applications and/or systems software. This job interacts with executive leadership and others concerning matters of significance to the organization, and makes decisions that have a considerable impact on the overall success or failure of their area of accountability. This job owns short to mid-term strategy execution and operational direction in alignment with organization objectives.

Key Responsibilities And Duties

  • Oversees the execution of the development and implementation of IT applications and applications systems analysis and programming activities that enable the organization's business processes.
  • Consults and advises leadership in determining and developing IT application strategies and effective integration of these strategies to meet organization-wide business needs.
  • Represents the organization when selecting IT hardware and software vendors to ensure organization IT needs are met according to cost, performance, delivery, quality, and service standards.
  • Conducts organization-wide IT quality assurance and audits to ensure compliance with defined standards.
  • Manages multiple IT teams led by Managers and/or Directors.
  • Directs, motivates, develops and manages the performance of the IT Applications management team and key staff.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to CIO of Wealth Management and Advice Solutions, this Wealth Management Platform Technology Leader will own end-to-end execution of our highest-priority technology initiative, managing platform enhancements across managed accounts, brokerage, trust services, and critical vendor integrations while eliminating operational bottlenecks that constrain advisor productivity. This Leader is the senior technical leadership to accelerate transformation and platform delivery, drive advisor adoption, and modernize middle/back-office operations that directly impact revenue growth and competitive positioning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing operations team blending internal staff and managed services partners.
  • Lead a multi-year, front-to-back brokerage platform transformation, overseeing delivery while managing dependencies with core brokerage platforms and vendors.
  • Provide executive leadership for Wealth transformation program while ensuring teams have the support to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Identify execution risks, delivery bottlenecks, and integration gaps across programs, and intervene directly with delivery teams to resolve issues and maintain momentum.
  • Translate business transformation priorities into actionable technology initiatives, implementation plans, and delivery of roadmaps in partnership with product, architecture and engineering teams.
  • Drive adoption and operationalization of Wealth platform, processes, and capabilities by ensuring change readiness, transition planning, and stabilization support post-implementation
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders (across TIAA and Vendors) to drive delivery alignment and ensure internal and external partners remain synchronized on priorities, timelines, and transformation outcomes.
  • Ensure vendor and stakeholder alignment on scope, delivery commitments, and success criteria, holding partners accountable for milestones and ensuring transparency on progress, risk, dependencies.
  • Drive implementation of structured change management plans across transformation initiatives, ensuring stakeholders are prepared, trained, and supported through transitions to new systems, processes and operating models.
