The role is heavily focused on process optimization, manufacturing engineering support, continuous improvement, automation, and cross-functional collaboration within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities
- Optimizing manufacturing process yield, efficiency, and productivity through continuous improvement initiatives
- Developing, maintaining, and validating manufacturing process data for new and existing products/equipment
- Creating and updating work instructions and manufacturing documentation
- Supporting New Product Development (NPD), including concept evaluation, prototyping, testing, and process validation
- Working with Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews
- Identifying and implementing new electronic assembly and manufacturing capabilities
- Designing fixtures and tooling while coordinating with suppliers
- Supporting engineering prototypes and first article builds while identifying process improvements
- Collaborating with Quality Engineering to resolve manufacturing-related customer quality issues
- Leading troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities for manufacturing/process issues
- Supervising and supporting operator training in semi-automated manufacturing environments
- Driving process automation and supporting equipment such as PLCs, robots, CNCs, and AGCs
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience within a production environment
- Strong experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment and production lines
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly processes
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
