Position Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support automated production lines with a strong focus on electrical systems, sensors, HMI interfaces, and field devices. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting stable production operations through hands-on troubleshooting, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The engineer will work closely with production, maintenance, and controls teams to support automated assembly systems including sensors, PLC-related systems, HMIs, and electrical control components.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily operation of automated production lines to achieve safety, quality, and production targets
- Diagnose and troubleshoot industrial sensors including photoelectric, proximity, pressure, temperature, and flow sensors, ensuring proper alignment, calibration, and signal stability
- Troubleshoot wiring systems, connectors, and I/O signals within 24VDC control systems, and support replacement or configuration of field devices
- Support HMI systems by resolving alarms, communication issues, and display errors, and assist operators in identifying faults through system diagnostics
- Perform troubleshooting and support for electrical components including control panels, relays, circuits, and power distribution systems (24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC)
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts to support root cause analysis and equipment repair
- Respond to production line stoppages, perform structured fault isolation, and support line startup and recovery
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment downtime, quality issues, and process instability, and implement corrective actions
- Develop and support preventive maintenance activities focused on sensors, wiring, and control systems to improve equipment reliability
- Support basic PLC troubleshooting including I/O checks, signal verification, and fault monitoring, and coordinate with controls engineers when needed
- Analyze production and equipment data to identify improvement opportunities in cycle time, uptime, and yield
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- Maintain accurate documentation including troubleshooting records, maintenance logs, and process updates
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Professional Experience
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or automated production environments
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems, sensors, and automation equipment in industrial settings
Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with industrial sensors and field devices
- Ability to troubleshoot 24VDC control circuits and I/O systems
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Familiarity with HMI systems and operator interface diagnostics
- Basic knowledge of PLC systems such as Allen-Bradley or Siemens
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP or Profinet is a plus
- Experience with motors, VFDs, and automation systems is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on troubleshooting capability
Preferred Qualifications
- Preventive maintenance and equipment reliability experience
- Experience supporting automated assembly lines or new line commissioning
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- NFPA 70E Electrical Safety certification
- NCCER Electrical or similar industrial certification
