About the Role
As a Production Engineer, you’ll be responsible for programming, setting, and operating advanced 3–5 axis CNC machining centres. You’ll create machining strategies from both CAD models and from scratch when required, while producing high‑precision components to tight tolerances. This is a hands‑on role within a skilled and collaborative team where your experience and ideas will be highly valued.
Candidate Requirements
Apprentice trained or relevant engineering qualification
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a 5 Axis CNC Miller/Programmer
Knowledge of Heidenhain and Fanuc controls
Proficient with SolidWorks and Fusion 360
Ability to create programs from scratch, including when no CAD model is provided
Experience with fixture and jig design/manufacture
Key Responsibilities
Programming, setting, and operating 3–5 axis CNC machining centres
Creating machining strategies with or without CAD models
Developing full toolpaths using SolidWorks and Fusion 360
Working confidently with Heidenhain and Fanuc controls
Designing and manufacturing fixtures, jigs, and work holding solutions
Producing high‑precision components to tight tolerances
Reading engineering drawings/3D models and converting them into efficient machining processes
Continuously improving machining methods to maximise productivity and quality
