We are designing next-generation robotics systems used at scale in real-world environments. If you are passionate about robotics, AI, and building reliable hardware that serves millions of users, we'd love to connect.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Mechanical Electrical Assembler to support the assembly, servicing, and integration of next-generation robotic systems.

In this role, you will:

  • Build electromechanical production units and subassemblies
  • Follow released engineering documentation and work instructions
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality hardware builds
  • Support testing, integration, and production readiness

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and takes pride in disciplined, repeatable, high-quality hardware assembly.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment (e.g., aerospace, automotive, construction, electrical service, or similar industries)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Basic English proficiency (read written instructions and communicate verbally)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments and inclement weather if required

Physical Requirements

This role requires:

  • Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and overhead work
  • Use of stairs, steps, and vertical ladders
  • Working on elevated platforms
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs
  • Clear close and distance vision, color differentiation, depth perception, and focus capability

What You'll Do

Assembly & Build Execution

  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical units according to released drawings, schematics, and work instructions
  • Perform repeatable production builds of wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and integrated electro-mechanical systems
  • Install and connect compute, control, power, and sensor systems following established procedures
  • Produce subassemblies based on engineering prints, wiring diagrams, component lists, and direct technical instruction

Electrical Work

  • Perform electrical wire terminations
  • Cut, route, bundle, and secure wires to required specifications
  • Connect wires between component leads, terminals, and contact points
  • Execute proper cable management and routing practices

Testing & Quality

  • Conduct functional tests, inspections, and basic calibration steps
  • Identify defects, missing components, or out-of-spec conditions and escalate as needed
  • Rework or repair units using approved documentation and processes
  • Record build status, serial numbers, and production data accurately in tracking systems

Production Support

  • Maintain clean, organized workstations and tools
  • Support kitting, material handling, and inventory accuracy
  • Assist with final assembly, factory integration, and shipment preparation
  • Follow ESD, safety, and quality compliance requirements
  • Provide feedback to improve documentation, tooling, and process clarity

Preferred Experience

  • Experience building final production hardware on a manufacturing floor
  • Experience producing electrical or electro-mechanical subassemblies from detailed prints
  • Experience disassembling, modifying, refurbishing, and reassembling components
  • Familiarity with integration of robotic, automotive, or automation systems

Work Environment

This is an on-site role in San Francisco requiring five days per week in person. Occasional field work may be required.

This is a hands-on production role within a fast-moving robotics environment focused on building reliable, scalable automation hardware.
