🚀 Now Hiring: Equipment Maintenance Engineer (SMT/PCBA) | San Jose, CA (Onsite)

💰 Compensation

  • $90,000 – $105,000 base salary

📍 Location

  • Onsite in San Jose, CA

💼 What You’ll Do

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on SMT and PCBA equipment (pick-and-place, screen printers, reflow ovens, AOI/SPI systems)
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues to minimize downtime
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term corrective actions
  • Monitor equipment performance (OEE, MTBF, MTTR) and drive efficiency improvements
  • Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment and production lines
  • Maintain maintenance schedules, SOPs, and detailed equipment logs
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to improve yield and throughput
  • Train technicians and operators on equipment best practices
  • Coordinate with vendors for technical support and spare parts management

🎯 What We’re Looking For

  • 3–7+ years of experience in SMT, PCBA, or electronics manufacturing equipment maintenance
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and automated systems
  • Experience with PLCs, control systems, and diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes)
  • Proven experience with root cause analysis (5 Whys, 8D, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance tracking
  • Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Hands-on SMT production line experience strongly preferred

➕ Nice to Have

  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with MES/SFC systems
  • Experience supporting NPI, line setup, and equipment qualification
  • Background in reliability and performance optimization initiatives
