Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their innovative team in **Boston, Massachusetts, US**. This role is critical in optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of manufacturing principles and technologies.
Responsibilities: Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies to enhance productivity and product quality. Develop and conduct experiments to validate process changes and improvements. Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality assurance, and production, to implement process changes effectively. Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations. Lead process improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma projects. Develop and implement training programs for production staff on new processes and equipment. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing efficiency, yield, and cost. Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technology and industry best practices. Manage capital equipment projects, from specification and procurement to installation and validation. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing process engineering, preferably in a relevant industry. Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, including Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. Proven experience in process analysis, design, and optimization. Proficiency with CAD software and simulation tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams. Knowledge of quality control systems and statistical process control (SPC). Experience with automation and robotics is a plus. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
